There are a number of special shooting modes available in the app. There's a simple one-button remote control—for those times when you want to be in the photo—and a self-timer so you can hide your phone away when posing for a group shot.

Fuji's first foray into instant was a little later in the 1980s with cameras like the Instax 100, but only after it managed to avoid a potential lawsuit for infringing Polaroid's film patents. Those patents would expire in 1998, at which point Fuji introduced its first Instax camera. If the original OneStep’s specifications aren’t especially detailed (even with the benefit of history), they’re positively encyclopedic compared to what’s been published about the new model.
