About this deal

The book is one long adventure from beginning to end. I love the spookiness of it all and the way the friends try to help someone who died many years ago. The characters show just what true friendship is about even with their own problems outside of their ghostly activities. Originally stated as Ghost Hunting With... Paul O'Grady and Friends, Paul O'Grady, Jennifer Ellison, Philip Olivier and Natasha Hamilton jet off to Italy to join Yvette Fielding as she investigates some of the most scariest and sinister locations Sicily has to offer. Yvette appeared on the Paul O'Grady Show in April 2008, where she explained with Paul, their experiences whilst filming for the show, during which Yvette and Paul both hinted the episode may be used as a Christmas Special. How there was just an entire middle that was absolutely boring. We get a terrific beginning and an OK scary ending, but in between nothing was happening and there were moments I was considering DNF-ing the book. Eve, Clovis and Tom are likeable if slightly naive characters, and you have to consider their age and the fact they are trainees. The gang do manage to go above and beyond and show remarkable resilience. I imagine normal kids might just leg it and be away on their toes. They had their flaws but that made them more believable.

The characters of Clovis, Eve and Tom are fun, their excitement and escapades reminding me of the Enid Blyton Famous Five hijinks.I've loved Yvette and her passion for ghosts since the early days of @officialmosthaunted so couldn't wait to read this series.

I recommend this to anyone who likes ghost hunts, would make sure that the person reading is over 12/13 and don’t buy for a child who gets scared easily. I love books where the young characters are treated by adults with respect. Eve, Clovis and Tom have proven their worth in the past, so Detective Inspector Rutherford has no hesitation in making them part of the team, under the guidance of Uncle Rufus. Oh. My. God. It’s Halloween and friends Clovis, Eve and Tom are well and truly shunted into spooky mode when they see something scary in a graveyard - a tall man wearing a top hat. While logical Clovis reasons that it may well have been someone in fancy dress costume, Tom is certain it was a ghost, while Eve is open to either scenario being true. Matters take an undeniably terrifying turn when they play with a ouija board in a creepy abandoned house and wind up with a spirit on their case. Yvette Fielding takes pop supremo Louis Walsh and Boyzone on a trip into the unknown as they brave the shadows underneath the historic city of Edinburgh. Below the city is a terrifying network of subterranean streets once occupied by criminals and the underclasses, named after the former street, Mary King's Close. Yvette will lead Louis and the boys to a hell on three levels as they descend through the forgotten streets to investigate a witches' lair and chambers believed to be haunted by evil ghosts. But will the lads make it that far?. This episode marked the last TV appearance of Stephen Gately as he died 6 weeks later on 10 October 2009. She does understand the scepticism. But it was a blow when Ofcom ruled that Most Haunted was an entertainment show, not a legitimate investigation into the paranormal, and “should not be taken seriously”. “Oh my God, I was livid – it is real investigation. We take what we do incredibly seriously.” When I grow up I wanna be a ghost hunter! After reading this book I nowfeel fully qualified! I ain't afraid of no transparent apparitions!-- Keith Lemon The opening chapter introduces us to the Ripper himself, watching and waiting in the shadows for his next victim, before we then move forward in time to a horrifying haunting at a local school, and we are then consequently introduced to our main characters, Eve, Tom, and Clovis. Within 2 chapters, this book was already creepier that quite a few adult horrors that I’ve read, and the descriptions of specific horror scenes are so well written that you can vividly visualise them in your head. One thing I have always felt with horrors and probably always will is that there is nothing more terrifying than scary children, and this book certainly has those. She tells a funny story about having to redo the sound on that one because she had been singing on the way down. They recorded in the car in the car park, rattling the seats, making bobsleigh noises. “All the windows steamed up and the German police were called because they thought something lewd was going on.”If you want an easy read, that you don't really have to think about, then this is a good book to go with. If you're expecting full on spooky Halloween goodness, then this just isn't it. I liked the general idea for this book, but not the execution. Here is a list of other things I wasn't a fan of: For this episode, Yvette takes the McFly band into the Northumbrian countryside to visit three different locations. While the four band members were in high spirits for the tours of the locations, their personalities change completely upon switching to night-vision. Nazi ghosts. I am sorry, I just cannot take it seriously. It reminded me of another book I read (not about ghosts but about murder) and how that suddenly went to nazis as well.
