About this deal

Finish: The finish is medium with a general sweetness giving a candied apricot note. The lenght is medium. On the nose I get mandarin and fruits in general. On the palate it's crisp, quite a bit oak and little bit of peppery fell. Finish is medium lond with nice creamy feel to it. Clynelish 1997/2017 (55%, Kingsbury for Or Sileis Taiwan, hogshead, cask #7104, 160 bottles) - 021220 Clynelish 21 yo 1995/2017 (55.5%, Signatory Vintage, Cask Strength Collection, hogshead, cask #8672, 566 bottles) - 100818 Clynelish 26 yo 1995/2022 (51.5%, The Whisky Exchange, 50 years in the drinks industry, hogshead and sherry butt) - 301222

The foreshots and feints from the spirit still are collected in a receiver and then briefly added to the low wines in the spirit still charger. Because of the comparatively long time the liquid sits in the low wines and foreshots and feints tanks prior to being mixed to create the spirit still charge, you get a build-up of waxiness.” Douglas Murray, Diageo’s Process Development Manager A Highland Distillery 10 yo 2010/2020 (54.8%, The Maltman, sherry butt, cask #2090, 632 bottles) - 030321 Clynelish 29 yo 1984/2014 (58.0%, Scotch Malt Whisky Society, #26.106 ‘Say it with flowers’, refill ex-sherry butt, 586 bottles) - by Angus - 241219Clynelish 19 yo 1995/2014 (51.7%, The Whisky Agency, Liquid Library, hogshead, 295 bottles) - 010115 Clynelish 14, İskoçya’nın Highland bölgesinde bulunan Clynelish damıtımevinin (Okunuşu: Kılayn-liş) standart ekspresyonu. Clynelish 27 yo 1993/2021 (53.8%, Hunter Laing, The First Editions Author's Series, bourbon barrel, cask #HL 18443) - 301222 It’s good to see an official distillery bottling of Clynelish in the U.S. This one is very true to the Clynelish style: fresh, appetizing, and very drinkable. Notes of brine, fruit (lemon-lime), and vanilla-accented malt, are the foundation of this whisky. Delicate seaweed, peat, exotic pepper and a hint of citrus rind bitterness entertain the palate throughout, all the way to its appetizingly briny, seaweed-tinged finish. Perhaps the definitive aperitif whisky. 87 points - whiskyadvocate.com, reviewed by:John Hansell, Winter 2004 It’s especially the waxiness that make Clynelish stand apart. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, just get your hands on a bottle of Clynelish 14 Years (it’s worth it), and you’ll recognise the flavour profile I’m referencing soon enough. It’s a characteristic that seems to have been much more prevalent in earlier eras, but something you’ll rarely encounter in modern single malts, Clynelish being one of the few exceptions.

Clynelish 19 yo 1996/2015 (55.4%, Carn Mor, Celebration of the Cask, hogshead, cask #8801, 295 bottles) - 061017 A second distillery, also named Clynelish, is built next-door. A year later, the original distillery is mothballed An old bottling of a great Highland single malt. This bottling of Clynelish 14 Year Old features a slightly different label to modern bottles, though both of them feature the Scottish wildcat - which is a charming constant feature. Finish: long sweet finish with continuing maltiness, chestnut flavour, and with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Bu yazı ilginizi çektiyse; Distilled in Sutherland 9 yo 2010/2019 (51.3%, Thompson Bros., refill American oak barrel, 320 bottles) - 210220 Palate: This is strange. Odd. Peculiar. And completely unexpected. The overwhelming tasting note on my first sip was… Watermelon jolly ranchers? There’s a mouth-watering candied fruit thing going on here that can only be likened to those infamous hard candies of my youth. There was cherry, lemon-lime soda, pear, and artificial melon flavors all melding together. As I continue to sip, the candied flavors settle down and evolve into deeper, richer flavors of light peat, honeydew, and floral notes. The mouthfeel leans more to the creamy, waxier side of the spectrum, providing good body on the palate without feeling soft. There is only the slightest bite and remains overall quite restrained even at 46% ABV. Mouth: feels fuller than 46%, but slightly less complex than the nose. A nice waxy / creamy texture, mixed with nutty notes, briney touches and a sweet toffee edge. Orchard fruits and lemons. Orange peel. Light herbal honey, oak spice and leather. A hint of buttery cocoa as well. Clynelish 19 yo 1995/2015 (57.8%, The Single Malts of Scotland, hogshead, cask #932013, 254 bottles) - 051115

Clynelish 14 yo 1995/2010 (53%, The Whisky Agency, House Malt, bourbon hogshead, 170 bottles) - 280510

This one needs a little time and a healthy splash of water to reveal all it has to offer. Too harsh and bitter on the palate when sipped neat or with just a few drops of Adam's ale.

The nose is sweet with honey, grapes and some vanilla. The famous wax flavour that people often associate with Clynelish is also there, even unmistakably so. In addition there is a certain spiciness and saltiness that I found rather interesting. All in all a rather complex and very enjoyable nose!Clynelish 35 yo 1983/2018 (52.2%, OB, Casks of Distinction, for Aaron Chan, hogshead, cask #2566, 144 bottles) - 140219
