About this deal

Bedding Mortars We supply a range of fast set, cement & resin based bedding mortars which are ideal for installing manhole covers, utility access covers, frames, highways ironwork and the bonding of granite, sandstone & porphyry setts, paving slabs, flags and bedding kerbs. Our range of high strength, bedding mortars mean roads, footpaths & highways can be reopened to traffic in as little as 40 minutes, meaning less disruption for the general public. To further aid this, "point" or "strike" the joint; do not leave it textured. This ensures the top of the filler is below the top rounded edge of the paving and helps it adhere to the base and sides of the paving material. Smooth the joints: when drained and dried, lightly "point" or "strike" the joints with a suitable finishing tool EASYJoint brush-in patio grout , is a really simple, fast and DIY friendly way to fill the joints in paving slabs and flagstones. Market-leading EASYJoint is ideal for all types of paving such as natural stone, limestone, porcelain, sandstone, Yorkstone, Indian Stone, granite setts and concrete flags.

Do not commence the installation if persistent, heavy rain is forecast within 6 hours of completing the jointing. Start by cleaning the joints at least 30 mm deep and at least 3 mm wide. Do not forget to then thoroughly clean the surface to be pointed. 2. Wet the Surface Spray very lightly with water to maintain slurry consistency and aid sand movement. NEVER flood with water at any point during installation as too much water will affect the setting times and final strength of the product.

Step 3. Pour

For a project to be free draining, both the bedding and sub-base must be permeable. To achieve this, assuming a permeable sub-base, where a mortar bedding is used it should be no stronger than 6 parts sand to 1 part cement (6:1). This will ensure good drainage and is perfectly adequate for pedestrian areas. If water is retained in the joint for long periods, rather than passing through, the joint may fail. Weather Conditions

Top Up. Use more EASYJoint to top up any low areas, repeating the washing process as described previously. In terms of longevity, the jointing compound will last for years if looked after. We recommend when cleaning your patio or driveway that any use of pressure washers is not pointed directly at the joint, so as to not lift or disturb the compound. When using a pressure washer hose, hold it a few feet above the slabs and point the hose at a 45 degree angle. What happens if it rains as I’m using EASYJoint PRO? Freezing conditions are not always problematic for EASYJoint, however the volume of water used during the application process can potentially freeze. In this instance the particles within the grout mix won’t settle into the joints evenly due to the presence of ice and potentially lead to longer term problems. Please Note: This information is for guidance only, the above table is to be used as an estimate of the amount of EASYJoint required, we always recommend purchasing an additional 1-2 tubs to ensure that you have enough – it will also keep due to the unlimited shelf life. Some concrete paving is made in moulds and has chamfered edges creating a 'V' shaped joint between two paving slabs, wider at the top than at the bottom. This gap shape can be the most challenging to work with and we recommend you carefully follow the instructions below.Suitable for natural stone paving and setts, JOINTEX Easy Joint is a ready to use pavement mortar. Available in three colours - Nuetral, Grey and Basalt this product is ideal for DIYers or professionals wishing to complete their patio, pathway or courtyard area with a high quality mortar product. EASYJoint is the UK’s top selling paving jointing compound, favoured by professionals and DIY installers all around the world. This product has evolved to meet user demands and keep up with the latest trends in the industry. The EASYJoint family now has 8 products within the range. A single 12.5Kg Tub of EASYJoint will cover approximately the following areas of paving* Paving Size (mm) Top Up Low Spots. Use more EASY Joint to top up any low spots in your joints, repeating the washing process as described previously. IMPORTANT The project’s ground conditions must be free draining. If the area stays naturally wet and rarely dries out, or if there is a high water table, then EASYJoint should not be used.

In wet weather conditions, the curing process will be suspended. Prolonged periods of rain, or several intermittent showers will considerably extend the setting times. Again, this will not affect the final integrity of the product in any way provided water can drain easily away and so allow even curing throughout the joints (as previously explained). In dry conditions and warm temperatures and humidity, EASYJoint should be firm enough to walk on within 24 hours and will cure hard within a few days. Then rinse in with a fine spray so better compaction is obtained. Repeat to fully fill sagged joints as necessary. Only use JOINTEX Easy Joint on a draining surface such as a pebble bed, stabilised sand or grit. Do not use on a concrete surface with an insufficient gradient (at least 2 %). When the joint has been completely filled, after waiting for a short while for the product to harden, rinse the surface again to remove the last residues. If still necessary, any other residues may be swept away with a soft broom diagonally to the joint. 4. Allow to cure

EASYJoint can be installed dry, however to use this method the paving must be sealed at least 2 - 3 days before the EASYJoint application. The paving slabs must be sealed on five sides (the top and four edges). When applying dry, EASYJoint compound must be compressed, by striking off with a pointing tool into the joints as it will not self-compact in the same way it does when applied with water. Easyjoint can be used in wet or dry conditions and is sold in a 12.5kg tub which will cover an average of 7m² depending on slab size and joint width. With very light, or unknown types of stone with open pores the joint mortar can cause discolouration. It is therefore recommended to try on a test surface beforehand. Temperature for use: > 0°C ground temperature. Shelf life: at least 12 months after production date. Use after opening. Do not mix, strongly porous. 6. Watch A Video

Maintain the Width of Joint Throughout Maintain at least a 3mm gap width throughout the depth of the paving material. Never have this type of paving butted together. See photograph. All of our jointing products come individually or on a pallet which can be easily placed into a van or into a garden using a hiab lorry. Utilise the same method when working with porcelain paving tiles as with working with stone or concrete. The base on which the porcelain is laid must be able to drain. If the base is non-permeable then EASYJoint Pro or EASYGrout should be used.Using small quantities of EASYJoint, simultaneously spread and wash the compound across the surface using a light jet of water and a broom/squeegee, allowing it to fall into the joints The below installation guide was prepared by the product manufacturer, offering easy to follow instructions on how to sucessfully apply JOINTEX Easy Joint. 1. Clean the Joints EASYJoint PRO is two-part epoxy compound for use as a paving & patio joint filler. Made from coated sand and a separate activator, this quality epoxy paving grout simply requires mixing together before use. Once mixed, EASYJoint PRO will cure in any weather conditions.* As a professional-grade jointing compound, EASYJoint Pro’s strength and tolerance to water make it ideal for driveways, commercial areas, areas with poor drainage and swimming pool terraces.
