We Love It: Zingo is an educational indoor game designed to make the learning process more interesting for kids. What You’ll Need to Play Zingo
While meeting with students in small focus groups, such as guided reading, it is important to have as little interruptions as possible. Classic Bingo – Ask students to draw a 3×3 grid of squares and then choose nine numbers between 1-20 (or whichever numbers you are teaching) and write them in the squares. Then, the teacher will call out a number, and if that number is on the students’ bingo sheet, then they should cross it out.
Zingo is an award-winning game that develops children’s counting, addition, and number recognition skills. It is a fast-paced and exciting bingo/matching game.One set can be played by up to 6 players. To play, each student will have a different ‘zingo card’. Then students will take turns in sliding the ‘zinger’ to reveal a number card. The student must then try to match that number card to a number picture on his/her zingo card. The first student to fill up his/her zingo card is the winner. All the materials that come with the Zingo game are durable and can be re-used. So, by having a few sets of this game in your classroom you will have a fun and exciting numbers game to use in your class for years to come. 4: Number Guessing GamesZingo does not have a scoring system. Here, your objective is to cover all the images on your card. When you can spot a tile with an image the same as one of your cards, you can claim that tile. Use it to cover the matching picture. If the games I select can be used as an independent game center, or fun activity for kids, I want to assure the kids are able to understand and follow directions on their own. If you are working within an AAC user (especially for an emerging user/someone who is learning their system), try to match the drawn tile to the corresponding button in their device. AAC users can also target concepts like sentence expansion and describing.I have played this way, but usually will modify the game depending on the skill I might be targeting or the individual(s) I am playing against/watching play. For example, before a player places a tile on their board, they are required to use a designated carrier phrase “I see a ___.” Or they have to generate a sentence using the word from the tile that they selected.
