About this deal

Rinse the brush to remove as much paint as you can. There are several things you can use to rinse your oil brushes: For water-mixable oils, you can simply use water to rinse the brush. This article contains an in-depth look at cleaning up watermixable oils Gunmakers have been the most inventive of people, developing new products in an effort to give us better performance, reliability and more choice. But ingenuity is not confined to gunsmiths, some shooters take the time and make the effort to develop new products to meet our needs.

Ask a room of beauty editors whether they clean their make-up brushes every month and, of course, you’ll hear nothing but a resounding 'yes'. (Some of us might be lying, but we'll never admit it.) Ask us how we clean their favourite tools, however, and you’ll likely receive a bunch of different responses. The brushes in the power version are not the same as for the hand rod, they are larger diameter (to fit lengthened 12-gauge forcing cones) and are strongly constructed Some pigments might stain your brush even after thorough cleaning, but this doesn’t affect how the brush can be used. The double-sided brush easily removes pet hair and lint from furniture, pillows, clothes, pet beds and car seats

Oil painting brushes can be synthetic or made with natural hair, often hog hair. Here is a method that we recommend: A drying oil like linseed oil or safflower oil. This is also a good way to rinse brushes during a painting session, as the oil in the brush will not affect the painting. Proprietary bore cleaners make the process a little easier but this is not because bore cleaners can dissolve lead deposits – any chemical capable of dissolving lead you would not wish to put in your steel gun barrels. Watercolour brushes are most commonly made from synthetic, sable or squirrel hair. Because they are so soft they require more delicate handling, particularly natural sable and squirrel brushes. The standard Magic Bore brush rod is long, strong, with a substantial and sturdy (removable) handle which is knurled for easy gripping

Bristle Magic contains no hazardous, toxic, abrasive or caustic chemicals. It also has no noxious fumes and is a very low VOC product. Remove Fur Magic brush from base and swipe in the direction indicated by the arrow on the brush to remove pet fur and lint. The standard Magic Bore brush rod is long, strong, with a substantial and sturdy (removable) handle which is knurled for easy gripping. The full length of the two-part rod is covered with a special micro-fibre sheath, from handle end to brush, which also aids cleaning and polishing and removes the debris that the brushes remove. This sheath is replaceable after considerable use. An oil painting solvent such as turpentine or mineral spirits. Odourless mineral spirits are petroleum distillates that have had aromatic components removed, and many artists find them more pleasant to use in the studio. In under two minutes Mike gave his guns a thorough clean that had the bores (including the almost 10-bore diameter forcing cone entry) sparkling clean with Magic BoreNon-Toxic: Bristle Magic contains no hazardous, toxic, abrasive or caustic chemicals. It also has no noxious fumes and is a very low VOC product. Artists tell us they use Bristle Magic as a safe and natural alternative to other dangerous cleaners.
