VELUX Touch gives you an all-in-one control for all your solar and electric windows, blinds and shutters. It's intuitive design makes it easy for anyone to use it. The power supply is not provided and I used a 24V 6A PSU. Apparently only 1A is needed per shutter motor so a 3A PSU should be more than enough to power 2 motors and the electronics. Price With VELUX App Control, comfort is always in reach. Simply tap your smartphone to let in a breath of fresh air or shade from the sun to control temperature, light, look, and feel of your home. I'm getting my roof repaired and my Velux windows renovated and I opted to get some electric rolling shutters (ref: Velux SML) to replace my indoor rolling blinds. I didn't need to get them solar powered as they are close to a power outlet. a Velux KUX 110 per window (80€). They include a power supply and a radio remote. This is the module that powers and control the motor.
In my (rented) apartment I do have several VELUX INTEGRA windows with blinds. I also asked myself what the best way would be to integrate them as in addition to the mentioned VELUX products also Somfy claims to be compatible (as based on io-homecontrol) both with VELUX and also with Apple HomeKit. With the 15 minute ventilation timer, you can air your room and not worry about closing the window afterwards - VELUX Touch will do it for you. If you try to get the position via a triggered state node (e.g. every second) in Node-Red while the cover is moving , you will not get the current position every time. Here you also only get a new position after 5s-10s of moving cover. If the above steps do not solve your problem, then you are unfortunately forced to factory reset your VELUX products not being found by the gateway. Please be aware that you need physical access to your product to perform the factory reset. However, during the outage you will not be able to use the app (i.e. no product control, no reading of indoor climate parameters and no modification of any settings). App functionality is automatically re-activated on all connected devices when the internet connection is re-established. The gateway may take a few minutes to reconnect after the internet connection has been re-established.This piece of hardware, the Sonoff 4CH Pro is ideal for this: It provides 4 relays, can be powered with 24V and has Wifi thanks to the ESP8266. It also has holes to solder a header to re-flash the chip and use a firmware more compatible with Home assistant, but more on that later. Perhaps veering slightly off topic, do the Velux windows and blinds work with any third party switches, I’d ideally like to replace the supplied single wall box single gang faceplates with one single width wall box dual gang switch if possible. With VELUX Touch, you only need to reach for the remote to take control of your indoor comfort. VELUX Touch makes it easy to feel perfectly at home by ensuring every solar and electric roof window, blind and shutter is always within easy reach. VELUX App Control: With this product you are also able to control your home with an the app. You can manually operate your VELUX products to any desired position, and you can make scheduled automations based on your personal settings, such as how many times a day you want to air the room. As no indoor climate sensor is included when purchasing your VELUX App Control, you are NOT able to make any smart automations. However, you can always add sensors to your VELUX App Control, whenever you want, and hereby upgrade it to a VELUX ACTIVE product. VELUX must be able to inspect and/or collect goods that are to be returned prior to the acceptance of the goods for return.
VELUX windows will be compatible with 3rd party automation systems by using the KLF 200 to link them. VELUX ACTIVE and VELUX App Control will continue to operate during internet outages. The app regulates the indoor climate and sunscreening according to the latest set point applied before the outage (away mode, manual set point, etc.). After two days, it is paused as no weather data has been updated. Only the operation of sunscreening in the morning and the evening is ongoing.In any case after these experiences I decided that I don’t want to stay with Somfy both because of the missing local functionality as well as the questionable support.
