About this deal

pun-heavy whodunnit graphic novel which is just as clearly laid out, colourful and silly as Dav Pilkey’s phenomenally successful series. But what truly elevates "InvestiGators: All Tide Up" is the captivating artwork that brings this comic book to life.

And for many, after finishing the book, they will enjoy going back and rereading and laughing again. If you can help kids begin to love reading they will continue to grow as readers and many kids will love reading InvestiGators, which will help them become lifelong readers.

Beyond annoying, confusing to read and I question how much the intended audience would even pick up on let alone understand. My 2 sons and I have been loving those books for the last few years and we always laugh so much at Mango and Brash’s puns and crazy ideas! Another major issue that I really, REALLY hope won't become a trend is Mango's decrease in intelligence. We love Mango and Brash, and this book about a missing cruise ship and a ghost pirate named Willy Nilly is a lot of fun! This is the funniest book I've read since Alcatraz vs the Evil Librarians, or maybe since the Wretched Waterpark.

And this is one of those books I will be recommending to those who have middle-grade kids who “don’t like reading”. I will keep repeating it every chance I get: if you have a kid who doesn’t love reading, they have been reading the wrong books. September officially marks summer’s end, but a new season brings brand new books to get excited about. You won't find many comic books more exciting, more imaginative, or more gloriously silly than these, so let the InvestiGators splash, squark, and ka-BOOM their way onto your bookcase! It is in the finish a fairly convoluted drama, but the style and everything is very amenable, the education and piratical fun will go down very well, and this will surely remain a decent entrant to this series. There are so many puns that it can be a little much at times, but I suspect that kids would not catch all of them, and they and the malapropisms are definitely used as teachable moments for early and developing readers. First one in the series I've read and it's unbelievable how much this book is just littered with puns.

Mango and Brash, missing cruise ship, piiirrrraaates, tons of adventures and a great deal of punny jokes! I enjoy graphic novels and this one was another winner that will be at the top of my list for my patrons. Unsinkable detectives Mango and Brash are back in InvestiGators: All Tide Up, a high seas adventure that takes the hit series by John Patrick Green to uncharted waters! This pun-filled graphic novel features the duo on the case of the mysterious disappearance of a cruise ship and all its passengers--except for the ship’s captain. My creative team (my 14, 10, and 7 year old boys and myself) really enjoyed the opportunity to read the advance copy of this book. I read this book with my son (8) who is a huge fan and collects all InvestiGator's books--he absolutely LOVED it and can't wait to get his hands on a copy!

Here a cruise ship captain is rescued from the sea, sans cruise ship – and whisked away by a billionaire employer before the truth can come out. The mystery was fun and not as predictable - there was a definite twist - as some of the previous books in the series. He was the comics consultant for Disney Adventures magazine, and in addition to Disney has written, illustrated, or otherwise worked on comics for Nickelodeon, Dreamworks, Scholastic, DC Comics, and First Second Books.John Patrick Green is a human with the human job of making books about animals with human jobs, such as Hippopotamister, Kitten Construction Company, and InvestiGators. And can the InvestiGators unravel this maritime mystery before a second cruise befalls a similarly unfathomable fate? I laughed so many times throughout the story and it was a fun fast read that really pulls in the read.
