So while the majority of its most effective moments are little more than variations on Finding Nemo and other popular Disney/Pixar films, Finding Dory still feels like it exists for noble reasons. When Dory, the forgetful blue tang, suddenly remembers she has a family who may be looking for her, she, Marlin and Nemo take off on a life-changing quest to find them. This goes double for the third act which devolves into the expected elements of a frenetic chase where sea creatures have to escape humans.

The Octopus That Nearly Broke Pixar" (9:05) looks at the challenges of animating the curmudgeonly Hank. From the simple endearing story, to the joyous score, to the stunning animation (not to mention the cuteness of Piper herself), this film as all the makings of an instant classic, heartfelt Pixar short.
