About this deal

Listen in as she takes six different people on a career change journey to help them figure out what work they would really love to do and create a plan of how to make that career change happen. Content warning: parental death; lots of scenes of the hero tormenting and being cruel to the heroine when they were kids/teens. When after ten years of not seeing each other, Delilah is shocked when she receives a text message from Macon about something her sister did to him.

With their history, she doesn't know if she can believe anything he's telling her if it's another ruse to lure her into his game and embarrass her at the most opportune moment. The premise behind Dear Enemy is that ever since Macon and Delilah were children, they have had a strong hatred for each other. I loved how Kristen took it to the next level with the whole truth about their past experiences and their true feelings. That said, as the novel progresses you begin to see Macon’s side of the story, and feel for him too.Considering that Macon only dated one girl in his life before Delilah, said girl being her sister, doesn't really make it better. I expect nothing less than this sort of smartly written, masterfully told story from this author, and by the time I turned the last page, I wasn't even close to letting Delilah and Macon go. Imagine having three life-coaches who had been through the toughest mental and physical challenges; a crack team of problem-solvers who knew in their day job that one mistake could be the difference between life - and death. While it was extremely well written and the story overall was good, the pacing just didn’t work for me. It was a really beautiful enemies to lovers romance with some Hollywoody and some other interesting things thrown in.

I love reading and hearing about people accomplishing what they want and finding nothing but love and joy in it. And the majority of their disagreements could have be resolved if they stopped lying to each other and stopped all the miscommunication. There was a sweetness that I did not expect, and romantic, emotional depth that filled my heart to bursting. Of course, Macon, being mad as he is about what happened that led to this conversation, tells her to go. narfna on “What the stories never said: at the end of the day, if a man wants to kill you, he kills you.Maybe it would've improved along the way, I've seen some positive early reviews, but at this point I don't have the energy to invest in hoping it would turn around. Years down the road, Delilah is pulled back into Macon's orbit when her sister, Sam steals from him. I can do slow burn, but this felt a bit draggy at times, which made it hard for me to connect to the characters and their story.

Bob Johansson has just sold his software company for a small fortune and is looking forward to a life of leisure. DEAR ENEMY is a flawlessly executed enemies-to-lovers romance that follows a sassy heroine and a brooding hero with lots of humor, emotions and a pinch of angst to keep it interesting.

The scene between Samantha and Delilah should have had more impact, and the stakes should have been higher.

Delilah’s sister has stolen a valuable heirloom from Macon, now a rising Hollywood star, and he intends to collect his due. I enjoyed reading this story and found the storyline and characters were interesting and enjoyable to read about. I was hoping for some limits at least between them, but then the hero started thinking about how Sam was his "type" and how he used to be attracted to her: The women I hook up with are happy to take attention away from me and keep the spotlight on themselves. There is an explicit conversation between Delilah, her mother and a friend of the family about the old “he must like you” excuse for abusive behavior from boys.

I definitely liked the slow burn romance, and that none of the characters just "rolled over" for the other. You just know when these two finally finally get horizontal on a bed (or in a bathtub or on a sandy beach), the end result is bound to be explosive. It’s always been that way, only now, instead of seeing resentment and irritation in his eyes, I see genuine pleasure.
