Jin Rou didn’t want to be part of the struggle and greed of being a cultivator, striving to reach the heavens at the expense of smashing everything else down. New Birthday 3 By Tsuu Yin's Pipa Playing (featuring Shaggy Two) The Dandelion's Seeds: Art By Tsuu Character heights. I felt at first like it was going to be a 3-star read (perfectly acceptable by my standards), but it grew into 4 stars, and then 5 (and then down to 4 again after a cooling-off period), progressing like the progression fantasy it is. For any Xianxia novel I've long held a sort of knee-jerk reaction and hard to keep under control absolute sense of imminent dissapointment.

If you are into slice of life, with a lot of focus on romance then I would certainly give this book a go. One where animals develop sentience so they can help you do chores and become your friends/children/disciples.

Jin was actually fairly good at saving: He had been saving to purchase a few spiritual pills, after picking up so many extra chores. It starts off with the titular chicken then expands to multiple POV farm critters that are just the best. While masquerading as a peaceful farming story, it is still very much a power fantasy -- only an insincere one.

Apparently one of the bodyshots had hit poor Jin hard enough, and in just the right way to stop his heart and kill him. Not many details are known about Rou Jin’s life before transmigrating, which he refers to as the Before, beyond the facts that he was originally from Canada, he had a good relationship with his family and he has had experience working in a farm. Big D the rooster is fun, sure, but Chunky stole my heart and Tigger shouldered her way in somehow as well. Recent threadmarks the timeline of Lu Ban New on book 3 On Shen Yu vs the Cloudy Sword Sect and Shen Yu vs Soaring heavens Isle. Even a cultivator in the sky real could be foiled by all five” - Volume 3 Chapter 49 - “All five of Lu Ban’s treasures activated.Thank you for your hard work thus far and this "review" is just me ranting a bit because its just so damned a rare and pleasant suprise to actually be suprised I feel, especially from a genre thats been at my "avoid 9 times out of 10" regardless of any positivity surrounding the work. Also, I think Travis Baldree's narration might not have been a good fit for this story, and may have negatively affected my experience with it. It is a casual cultivation story where the main character, Jin, rejects his society's vision of what it means to be a cultivator and go live a quiet life on a farm with his animals. Plus, everything felt like it was trying to get the perfect set-up for volume 2, so a lot had to happen in a condensed time frame with no care for the overall pacing.

Plus the way the characters translate English words into their own dialect was both endearing and hilarious. But it just so happens that working on his farm gives him amazing Chi powers and makes him a much stronger fighter. I read way too much (according to Kindle 636 books last year) and have something like 30 stories I follow on RR currently. Encore une fois, les caractères et le monde alentour font de ce roman une perle parmi les nombreuses abominations de sa catégorie littéraire. I've slowly been reading this on RoyalRoad as chapters come out and haven't really taken the time yet to read each book as a whole. The different characters come alive on the page, from the farm animals to a cultivator from another sect to leader of the area who worries about offending the cultivator.
